Grandpa’s Horse Stable Antiques and Collectibles really is our Grandfather’s horse stable which has been transformed into a beautiful and unique setting for displaying our collection of antiques and collectibles. The stone walls, polished floors and original overhead post and beam construction transports you to another era.
Located at The Walker Farm in Oro-Medonte, which has been in the Walker name for over 130 years, the horse stable was originally built by our Great Grandfather, John Walker, his son Ebenezer Walker carried on farming with horses as did our dad Lloyd Walker.
The farm has always been used for mixed farming including field crops, dairy cattle, beef cattle, pigs and chickens and horses prior to tractors.
A visit to the Antique Shop is more than just a shopping excursion. The addition of our little “Sugar Shack” means customers can enjoy a complimentary coffee and indulge in home made sweets, pies, tarts and fudge while relaxing on the patio.
Fun for the kids too.
Children can enjoy a game of bean bag toss to win a prize or find the life-like animals decorating the horse-stable including: Ethel and Lucy the Geese, Butch the Border Collie, Willie the Wide-Eyed Cat, Phil and Pheona the Rafter Pheasants, Rusty the Rooster, and the barn swallows in their nests. Download our “Find the Animals” page and print a copy to bring with you on your next visit. Click HERE
On special occasions a team of beautiful heavy horses provides wagon rides around the 250 acre property offering stunning views of Oro-Medonte and picturesque spots for picture taking along the forests and giant stone fences.
Great Grandma, a master spinner has joined us to demonstrate the age old art of spinning wool into yarn.
Folk singer/songwriter and sister, Anne Walker also performs on the patio, weather permitting.
Watch and listen to Anne Walker’s song, “Over My Shoulder” for a wonderful tribute to Lloyd Walker.
2014 will bring a few more surprises to delight our hundreds of regular customers and all who visit this year. We look forward to seeing you.
Sincerely,
Ian Walker & Neil Walker

Sorry you missed the Edgar reunion. It was well organized and very enjoyable. I used to enjoy Sue Heels’ company and would like to contact her. She would know me as Rilla Beemer.
Hope to come out some weekend soon. I would like one of Anne’s CD’s and the fudge that tastes like the kind I make but only one piece. When I make it eating one piece is not possible.
Your web site is well designed and a delight to view.
Thanks,
Rilla
